The Bridge From Science to God

Science Discovers God! Challenge Your Disbelief

Book Two

The Bridge From Science to God

If you believe in science, then you will believe in God. You just don’t know it yet.

The fact is that during these past twenty-five years or so, scientists in the fields of Astronomy, Astrophysics, Chemistry, Particle Physics, Molecular Biology, and Biotechnology Engineering, have pushed back the frontiers of human knowledge to the point where the role of the divine is now undeniable. They have clearly developed the scientific evidence to prove God is real. He is present, and He is aware of us.

Once you see this evidence and accept this truth, then your life is in for some wonderful changes. You will accomplish more than you ever thought was possible.

Excerpts

The Bridge From Science to God

My point is that our three pounds or so of gray-matter, our brains, cannot be expected to comprehend everything that exists in an infinite universe.  And if you are one of those people who refuse to believe in anything that you cannot understand, then you are going to be missing a lot.

In recent years I’ve come to realize that past human philosophers all have one huge problem. That is, none of them are tethered to the wealth of scientific facts that are available to us today. I can’t blame them, after all, most of them have been dead for hundreds or thousands of years. But we don’t have that excuse now.  Their greatest works of philosophy were products of the human imagination, held together by logic and reason. Today, that’s not enough.  Our thinking today must harmonize with ALL the scientific data that has been developed up until now. And if it doesn’t, then it must be rejected or amended.

Science is another search for understanding. Scientists perform experiments and make observations in order to answer the questions that are embedded in their hypotheses. You might think, over time then, they would have more answers and less questions. But that’s not how it works.  With every question that gets answered, a whole family of new questions arise.

That’s the problem with Science. It never ends. It’s like the three-year-old child who keeps asking “Why?” after every answer you give them. It feels like the unanswered questions will outlive us. So, while the questioning continues, I had to call “time-out” and ask: “Are there any eternal truths that we already have enough scientific evidence to be sure of”?  Fortunately, the answer is “yes”, and I have presented many of them here.

So, how did life begin?

This is one of those age-old questions that philosophers have been discussing for thousands of years.  Then in 1859 Charles Darwin published his thesis “On the Origin of Species”, and the scientific thinkers of that time quickly expanded this into an all-encompassing Theory of Evolution.  They proposed to explain how life began and evolved into everything that has ever lived on our planet.

Of course, back in the 1800’s scientists knew little or nothing about cells, or genes, or DNA, or RNA, or anything else about the molecular mechanisms of life.  When they spoke about “life”, they literally did not know what they were talking about. And yet these are the people whose theories of life we are still teaching in our schools today!

Christianity goes on to make amazing promises. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it shall be opened to you. Ask and you shall receive. At one point Jesus even tells his apostles, and all of us, that EVERYTHING we ask for from the Father, our Creator God, through Christ will be given to us.  That last one has always been my favorite, because He didn’t say “most things” or “almost all things” or “99% of the things” you ask for.  He said EVERYTHING!
